ENDOCRINOLOGY LITERATURE

Endocrinology is the field of study referring to the endocrine system. Often considered to be a sub-specialty of internal medicine, endocrinology deals with the glands responsible for the secretion of hormones. Since hormones are key to making sure the body is chemically balanced, diseases of the endocrine system often affect complex bodily systems such as metabolism, reproduction and sensory perception. Many of these hormone related diseases are often treated with medication specifically designed to compensate for the chemical imbalances caused by various conditions.
