What is Sculptra

Sculptra is a type of dermal filler composed of poly-L-Lactic acid which is used to help replace lost collagen and remove wrinkles and folds.  Sculptra treatments require multiple injections, generally a couple of months apart. On average, each patient will receive three injections to achieve the desired effects.  The procedure needs to be repeated approximately every two years.

What parts of the face can Sculptra be used to treat?

Sculptra can be used to remove wrinkles and folds in the following areas:

Nasolabial Folds: Generally called smile lines, Sculptra can be used to treat wrinkles between the nose and mouth

Marionette Lines:  Wrinkles around the mouth

Chin Wrinkles

What are the side effects of Sculptra?

The most common side effects of Sculptra include: redness, injection site discomfort, bruising, swelling, tenderness and small to large lumps under the skin.  These side effects are very common among patients and tend to resolve several days following treatment.
